A monument linked to the IRA in County Fermanagh has been damaged. The McManus Murphy Coen Cumann, affiliated with Sinn Féin, stated the damage occurred in recent days and was deliberate.

The group expressed disappointment over the incident. They said memorials serve to remember lives, affected families, and historical moments that shaped local communities.

The spokesperson noted that damaging a memorial attacks remembrance itself. They described the act as destruction of memory rather than debate or engagement.

The group called for respect for history, differences, and people. They said such respect builds communities and that remembrance deserves dignity.

Efforts are underway to restore the monument. The affiliate affirmed that memory cannot be broken.
