St Agnes Choral Society Prepares Anything Goes for Grand Opera House
St Agnes Choral Society will perform Cole Porter's musical Anything Goes at Belfast's Grand Opera House. Allen Gordon, from Annalong, takes the role of Billy Crocker, who falls in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, played by Aideen Fox, and stows away on an ocean liner from New York to London.
Lorraine Jackson portrays nightclub singer Reno Sweeney. Gordon performs routines with Jackson and Fox. Key songs include 'Blow Gabriel Blow', 'I Get a Kick Out of You', 'You're the Top', 'It's De-Lovely' and the title number with a tap routine.
Laura Kerr directs the production. Adam Darcy serves as music director. Ann Marie Morgan, from Newry, handles choreography.
Gordon called the choreography suitable for professional stages and highlighted the tap routine at the end of Act One. This marks his fourth show with St Agnes and third at the Grand Opera House.
He previously led as Gomes in the society's The Addams Family there alongside Jackson. Gordon serves on the committee and performs with Newcastle Glees Musical Society.
