Ursula Marshall, Disability Advocate from Cookstown, Dies Suddenly
Ursula Marshall from Cookstown died suddenly on March 19. She founded Mobility Mid Ulster over 16 years ago. Marshall served as chair of Mid Ulster Disability Forum and Town Centre Forums.
She participated in Causeway and Mid Ulster Women’s Aid, Support for Children and Young People CYPSP, Mid Ulster PCSP, and Mid Ulster Senior Network. Marshall also sat on the board of Disability Action Northern Ireland.
Mobility Mid Ulster described Marshall as a founding member and vice-chair who worked on accessibility in Cookstown and Mid Ulster communities. The group noted her involvement in Women’s Aid, children’s support, community safety, and housing initiatives.
Causeway and Mid Ulster Women’s Aid stated Marshall advocated for women, children, and young people affected by domestic abuse. Disability Action called her a board member and activist for inclusion and equality.
Her funeral occurred on March 24 at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Cookstown. Interment followed at Forthill Cemetery.
