Mayor Gillian McCollum of Ards and North Down visited Jim Holden at his home on Crawfordsburn Road in Bangor West to congratulate him on his 100th birthday.

McCollum presented Holden with a gift on behalf of the borough.

Holden received birthday cards from King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Irish President Catherine Connolly.

He hosted an afternoon tea party with his cousin and neighbours, who brought presents and a birthday cake.

Holden resides in his childhood home in Bangor.
