Parents of Chloe Mitchell Mark Her 24th Birthday Amid Ongoing Murder Case
The parents of Chloe Mitchell marked what would have been their daughter's 24th birthday with a social media tribute. Chloe Mitchell went missing in Ballymena on June 3, 2023. Her remains were found days later in the Co Antrim town.
Brandon John Rainey, 29, of James Street in Ballymena, faces charges of murdering the 21-year-old and preventing the lawful burial of her remains. He denies the charges and awaits trial. His previous legal team withdrew from the case after stating they were professionally compromised. Rainey informed them he no longer wanted their representation. A court heard last week that he has new legal representation.
George and Georgina Mitchell expressed their grief in a post on the Justice for Chloe Mitchell Facebook page. They stated their hearts are broken and questioned how much more pain they must endure. The parents affirmed their enduring love for their daughter and requested strength.
Chloe Mitchell was last seen on CCTV in Ballymena town centre in the early hours of June 3, 2023. The PSNI launched an extensive search. Detectives later opened a murder inquiry after finding human remains. This led officers to a flat in the James Street area where Rainey was arrested.
