Galgorm Collection Raises £180,000 for Simon Community Northern Ireland Over 15 Years
Galgorm Collection has raised £180,000 for Simon Community Northern Ireland since 2011. The partnership marks 15 years of support for homelessness services across Northern Ireland.
Colin Johnston, CEO of Galgorm Collection, visited Simon Community's temporary accommodation service in Ballymena on Monday. He met Marianne McCaul, Senior Manager at the Ballymena service, and Harriett Roberts, Director of Growth and Management at Simon Community Northern Ireland.
The collaboration represents Simon Community Northern Ireland's longest-running corporate partnership. Galgorm staff have taken part in fundraising events and awareness efforts.
Galgorm Collection plans to enter six relay teams in the Belfast Marathon in May 2026. The teams aim to generate additional funds and raise awareness about homelessness.
Simon Community Northern Ireland provides temporary accommodation and tailored support for people facing housing insecurity. The organisation notes 62,000 people currently lack a home in Northern Ireland, including nearly 20,000 children.
Colin Johnston stated that the partnership enables contributions to essential support where needed. He highlighted the generosity of staff and guests in reaching the fundraising total.
Jim Dennison, CEO of Simon Community Northern Ireland, said the funds have sustained services and kept accommodation available. He noted the rising homelessness issue and the value of such partnerships.
