Three young fishermen from the North West will showcase their expertise at the North West Angling Fair in Strabane. Jacob Griffin and Lewis Porter from Tyrone along with Finn Kelly from Raphoe make up part of the Irish Under 19 team for the FIPS Mouche Youth Championships.

The team honed skills on local waters including the Mourne, Derg and Finn rivers. They take part in the championships based in Ballybofey from July 16 to 23. The event draws anglers from various countries to waters in Donegal and Tyrone.

The fair takes place at the Melvin Sports Complex on March 28 and 29. The young competitors will share knowledge on fly tying and fishing there. Organisers Derry City and Strabane District Council run the event with support from the Loughs Agency.

Attendees can view demonstrations by fly dressers, casters and angling specialists from the UK and Ireland. Merchandise from fishing tackle producers, fly tying brands and outfitters will be available in the main hall.
