Sleet Showers Forecast Across Northern Ireland from Wednesday
Northern Ireland will see colder weather from Wednesday with sleet showers in several areas. The Met Office forecasts blustery winds and daytime temperatures from 7°C to 9°C. Overnight lows will range from -1°C to 2°C.
Belfast expects light showers with a 90% chance of sleet from 5am to 8am. Ballymena forecasts a 90% or higher chance of sleet from 3am to 9am. Strabane predicts similar conditions from 4am to 7am. Downpatrick has an 80% chance from 5am to 7am.
Newtownstewart anticipates sleet from 3am to 8am. Craigavon sees an 80% or higher chance from 4am to 8am. Dungannon expects sleet from midnight to 5am, light snow from 5am to 7am, and sleet until midday.
Cookstown forecasts sleet at midnight, from 2am to 9am, and at 11am. Ballymoney expects sleet from 4am to 7am. Enniskillen has an 80% or higher chance from 3am to 6am and 7am to 9am.
Wind gusts will reach 43mph to 48mph in these locations. Thursday begins dry and bright with light winds, but rain will spread east later. Friday and Saturday will feature frequent showers, bright spells, and stronger winds.
