Northern Ireland's Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald stated her department is monitoring global supply chains amid recent attacks in the region. The department tracks developments daily and coordinates with government partners to mitigate potential impacts on households and businesses.

No confirmed effects on local supply chains have occurred so far. Dr Archibald noted wholesale gas prices sit below levels from the early Russia-Ukraine war. She warned prolonged instability could push gas prices higher.

The minister called for additional support from the British Government if costs rise further for households and businesses under existing pressures. Her department works with industry and other departments to bolster economic resilience.

Dr Archibald stressed reducing dependence on fossil fuels and international gas markets through more domestic renewable energy generation.
