Portglenone Man Sentenced for Drug Possession at Ballymena Court
Michael Patton, 45, from Garvaghy Crescent in Portglenone, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court for possessing controlled drugs.
Police found him with 290 pregabalin tablets and 1.4 grams of cannabis on October 23, 2004. The charges involved Class B and Class C drugs.
Patton attended court in a wheelchair. His defence solicitor stated he possessed the pregabalin for pain relief and now receives prescribed medication.
District Judge Nigel Broderick noted Patton had breached a suspended sentence. The judge made no order on that breach since Patton met the deferral terms.
Broderick imposed a three-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
