Fermanagh Country Music Event Features Local Singer's Return After Accident
Anthony McBrien will headline the Fermanagh’s Got Country show at Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen on Thursday, July 23. The event marks his return to performing after recovery from a serious car accident in September.
McBrien, from Derrylin, was injured when his car with partner Helena left the road during a weekend in Donegal. The vehicle tumbled several times and landed in a field. He sustained serious trauma to his back and spine.
He underwent major operations and spent weeks in hospital. McBrien stated that the experience was the toughest year but affirmed his determination to recover.
Other performers include Derrygonnelly duo Rachel McConnell and Karl Kirkpatrick, who appeared on TG4 talent show Glór Tíre. Patrick Treacy, the first Fermanagh winner of Glór Tíre last year, will perform.
Vincy Walmsley from Arney joins the lineup. Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis, Shaun Loughrey, Malcolm McDowell, Seanie Mac and Joe Mahon will also take the stage.
