Jordan McPolin from Hilltown in Co Down won the Glór Tíre 2026 title. He defeated Paudie Coffey from Co Kerry and Dee Morrissey from Tipperary in the public vote. McPolin performed songs including Conway Twitty's 'Hello Darling' and 'Down in Louisiana'. Jimmy Buckley from Co Galway mentored him during the competition.

The win marks the third consecutive Glór Tíre title for Ulster. Paddy Treacy from Fermanagh took the award in 2025. Jason McCahill from Donegal won in 2024.

McPolin said the victory feels like a dream and will take time to sink in. He noted bringing the title to Ulster, the North, and Co Down is significant. People from Co Down organized watch parties and sent messages of support.

Residents of Co Down provided strong backing throughout his participation. McPolin credited their encouragement for his determination to represent them.

He observed growth in social media engagement and comments from new supporters. McPolin aims to boost the country music scene in Co Down. He mentioned past dance venues there have closed but interest among young people is rising.
