PSNI Seizes Suspected Firearms in Derry Searches
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland Terrorism Investigation Unit carried out searches in the Currynierin and Creggan areas of Derry on Saturday March 14.
The operation formed part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican criminality.
Officers seized two suspected firearms along with a number of other items for further examination.
Derry City and Strabane Chief Inspector Craig stated that firearms pose a serious risk and that removing them from communities remains a priority.
Chief Inspector Craig also thanked the local community for their patience during the searches.
