Cllr Ruairí McHugh, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, held a reception at the Guildhall on Thursday evening. The event celebrated the Tristar Football Club Girls team's achievements in the 2025 season.

The Mayor presented awards to team captains Nicole Macari and Beau Faulkner. The recognition covered the players' efforts on and off the pitch over the past two years.

Attendees included club chair and coach Shaun Condren. The gathering acknowledged the contributions of coaches, volunteers, and families.

McHugh described the team's dedication and teamwork as an inspiration. He noted their role as ambassadors for girls' football in the district.

The Mayor extended best wishes to the team for future seasons.
