Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council officers visited Cloughmills Community Action Team to discuss age friendly community efforts. Stephanie Scott, Age Friendly Coordinator, and Colleen Martin, Walking for All Officer, collaborated over the past month to assist older residents in remaining informed, connected, and active.

The session covered the council's Age Friendly Strategy and the eight World Health Organisation Age Friendly domains. Participants learned how residents can contribute to consultations, partnerships, and projects promoting positive ageing.

Colleen Martin presented the Walking for All programme, noting benefits for physical health, mental wellbeing, and social ties. She invited attendees to train as volunteer Walk Leaders to launch a weekly walking group in Cloughmills and combat social isolation.

Council representatives seek contact from other community groups interested in these initiatives. Stephanie Scott can be reached at stephanie.scott@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk or 07542 614665. Colleen Martin is available at colleen.martin@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk or 07704073437.
