Man Jailed for Assaulting Police in Derry on St Stephen's Day
Sean Connell, 28, of no fixed abode, admitted assaults on police, criminal damage and disorderly behaviour in Derry on December 26 last year.
Police responded to reports of anti-social activity at an address. Connell banged on the door and window. He broke a window in the door. Officers found his hands covered in blood.
Connell turned aggressive during arrest. He shouted support for a group. He threatened to bite an officer and attempted to do so. He tried to scratch an officer with his nails and kicked officers.
Aggression continued after transport to Altnagelvin Hospital.
Derry court sentenced Connell to five months in custody.
