Chris Quinn won first place in the Super Trowel Northern Ireland and Irish regional heat with 665 bricks laid and 593 bricks scoring after deductions. The bricklaying competition took place at Southern Regional College’s Greenbank campus on 27 February 2026.

Damien O’Neill placed second among pro competitors with 578 bricks laid and 553 scoring. Eight pro competitors and their hod carriers took part, along with seven junior competitors and their hod carriers. Competitors had 60 minutes to lay bricks, followed by 20 minutes for jointing.

The top two pro placers advance to the UK national final on 31 July and 1 August 2026 in Hertfordshire, England. Winners there compete for a £50,000 prize fund and represent the UK in the SPEC MIX Bricklayer competition in Las Vegas.

Arran Barr won the junior category with 145 bricks laid and 135 scoring. Juniors had 30 minutes to lay bricks and 20 minutes for jointing.

This heat marked the first of seven regional events leading to the national final. Southern Regional College hosted the event for the second time. Gareth Mone, Curriculum Area Manager at the college, stated the college looks forward to hosting again next year.
