Conall Donnelly began his role as Chief Executive of the Ulster Farmers' Union last week. The appointment was confirmed in September. He replaces Wesley Aston, who served in the position for more than ten years.

Donnelly held the post of managing director at the UFU's commercial subsidiary, Countryside Services. He also worked at the Livestock and Meat Commission and the Northern Ireland Meat Exporters Association.

Donnelly said Northern Ireland farmers face major changes as well as growth possibilities. He intends to keep the union as a reliable representative for farm families.

He plans to partner with government and industry groups for a viable agriculture sector. Donnelly committed to making members' views heard regularly across Northern Ireland.
