Ards and North Down Council Hosts Mobile Digi Lab Visit for Digital Innovation
Ards and North Down Borough Council staff Niall Drew and Louise Parkes organised a visit from the Mobile Digi Lab Signal Centre during the week of 16 February. The event hosted representatives from local businesses and council employees for a series of sessions on digital tools.
Project partners from Dundalk Institute of Technology led hands-on demonstrations of market-leading AI and immersive technologies. The visit forms part of the council's PEACEPLUS-funded Mini Digi Hubs project, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
The 42-month cross-border initiative shows how digital and Internet of Things technologies aid communities, businesses and public services. In Ards and North Down, plans target Comber Community Centre as an IoT site with sensors, data dashboards and digital programmes to benefit current and new users.
Council involvement supports the Smart Towns and Villages investment area, led by East Border Region.
