The Belfast Solicitors Association has chosen WAVE Trauma Centre as its charity partner for 2026. The association plans fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns and events with local legal professionals throughout the year.

WAVE Trauma Centre operates regional centres in Northern Ireland. It offers counselling, advocacy, training, welfare support and therapeutic services to those bereaved, injured or traumatised by the Troubles.

The centre also supports survivors of historical institutional abuse. It provides specialist trauma training to organisations and professionals in various sectors.

John O'Kelly, chair of the Belfast Solicitors Association for the coming year, stated that WAVE's services for Troubles victims and institutional abuse survivors hold great importance. He noted that solicitors witness trauma's lasting effects and have received WAVE's trauma training. O'Kelly expressed pride in the association's support for WAVE's ongoing work.
