Health Minister Mike Nesbitt appointed Michael Keating as a non-executive director to the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. The position began on 1 February 2026 and runs until no later than 31 January 2030.

Keating's role carries annual pay of £9,327 for one day per week. The appointment follows the Code of Practice from the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland.

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust forms one of five regional trusts set up in 2006. These trusts manage health and social care services across Northern Ireland. The trust's board includes a non-executive chair, seven non-executive directors, and five executive directors led by the chief executive.
