Fermanagh and Omagh District Council contacted Sky last week over reports of call dropouts and weak connectivity in the district. Council members sought details on falling service quality and plans to enhance mobile and broadband reliability.

Sky operates as a mobile virtual network operator that relies on infrastructure from established network providers. The company partners with O2 on services but stated that network operators hold responsibility for expanding coverage in the area.

Sky cannot directly affect mast upgrades or signal improvements, according to its response to the council.

The firm partners with Openreach and CityFibre to supply full fibre broadband. It has connected two million households to full fibre networks.

Sky invests in gigabit services to meet the UK government's target of nationwide coverage by 2032. Broadband speeds now reach up to five gigabits per second via major providers.

Customers facing issues in Fermanagh and Omagh should reach Sky's support team, the company advised.
