Dungannon man remanded in custody on stalking and harassment charges
A district judge at Dungannon court refused bail to Tiernan McKenna from Lambfield Drive in Dungannon. McKenna faces charges of stalking and harassment against a teenage girl. The alleged conduct spanned from 1 August 2025 to 27 February.
Prosecutors opposed release due to McKenna's prior convictions for similar offences, including a suspended sentence for stalking. The court determined no conditions could prevent further risk.
Defence sought bail with restrictions such as a ban from the supermarket where incidents occurred. The judge remanded McKenna into custody.
He will appear via video link at Dungannon Magistrates Court on 18 March. Stalking and harassment fall under the Protection from Harassment (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, which criminalises repeated behaviour causing alarm or distress.
