Maghera Heritage Centre Acknowledges Mid Ulster Council Funding for Preservation Efforts
Maghera Heritage Centre has credited Mid Ulster District Council with providing essential funding that supports its operations. Mr McCoy, the centre's chairperson, stated that such partnerships form the foundation of local community work.
The council's assistance has allowed the centre to protect Maghera's local stories and identity via archiving projects and research activities. It also funded a range of workshops, historical talks, and arts events, including the opening of the John Marquess Memorial Library.
Additional contributions from the funding went toward the Maghera Regeneration Programme, fostering community involvement. Mr McCoy noted that the backing helps deliver tangible benefits to residents.
Mid Ulster District Council covers parts of County Londonderry and other areas, often investing in cultural and regeneration initiatives to maintain community facilities.
