NIHRC Shares Media from Annual Human Rights Lecture on ECHR
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission has released photographs and a video recording of its Annual Human Rights Lecture 2026. The event occurred on 26 February at the Bar Library in the Royal Courts of Justice.
Sir Tim Eicke KCMG KC, former judge elected for the United Kingdom at the European Court of Human Rights, gave the keynote address. He discussed the European Convention on Human Rights amid global changes, addressing facts, myths and implications for the UK.
Chief Commissioner Alyson Kilpatrick hosted a panel that included The Right Honourable Dame Siobhan Keegan, Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, and Denise Kiley KC, Vice-Chair of the Bar of Northern Ireland. Sir Tim Eicke also contributed to the panel.
The commission organised the lecture in partnership with the Bar Council of Northern Ireland. The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, established in 1999, works to promote and protect human rights across the region.
Photographs from the event appear on the commission's website. A video of the livestream recording is available there as well.
