Lurgan Nostalgia Room opens Saturday with 1980s and 1990s memorabilia
A new visitor attraction in Lurgan offers guests a chance to step back into a 1980s or 1990s childhood bedroom.
The Nostalgia Room, located in High Street inside the vintage toy shop Unit 5, opens at 11am on Saturday 22 August. A special guest appearance by Ghostbusters NI is planned, along with nostalgic sweets, giveaways, a ribbon opening and a free tour of the room.
Comedian Sean Hegarty created and curated the space. He grew up in Lurgan and left school at 16. He said he wanted to bring back nostalgic memories from his own childhood and for others. He has collected old memorabilia and physical media for several years.
Items on display include cathode ray tube televisions, a VCR and DVD player with DVDs, old comics, magazines, toys, posters, books, CDs, cassette tapes, games and retro consoles. Visitors may touch, use and play with the items.
The room operates on an introductory offer of £20 per hour for up to four people. Bookings can be made through seanhegartyrewinds.co.uk or by following Sean Hegarty Rewinds on social media.
