A neonatal nurse from Irvinestown, County Fermanagh, has been honoured at the Northern Ireland Neonatal Nurses Association Annual Conference.

Joanne Maguire, who works at the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen, was named winner of the Making a Difference Award at the event in Belfast on 12 June.

The award recognises her outstanding contribution to neonatal nursing at the hospital.

Nicola Condy, Acting Sister at the neonatal unit, said the team was delighted by the recognition and that Maguire richly deserved the honour.

She added that Maguire makes a huge difference to premature babies and their families.
