An inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding the death of 22-year-old Kian Patrick Slaven in Omagh.

Mr Slaven, of Knockshee Park, died at his home on October 18, 2023.

A final preliminary hearing at Laganside Courthouse confirmed that all evidence is ready for the full inquest. Barrister David Reid told the court that three witnesses will give oral evidence: the next of kin and two doctors.

The inquest is listed for September 9 and 10, with the second day to serve as an overflow if all evidence is not completed on the first day. Proceedings are expected to begin at 10.30am on September 9.

No further preliminary hearings are required. The case was adjourned until the scheduled inquest date.
