TUV Fields Two Candidates for North Antrim Assembly Seats
The Traditional Unionist Voice has selected its candidates for the 2027 Northern Ireland Assembly election in North Antrim.
Sitting MLA Timothy Gaston will stand again for the party. Kirk Wilson, from Cloughmills, will stand for the first time.
The party stated that its aim is to win a fourth unionist seat in the constituency by targeting the seat currently held by the Alliance Party.
Gaston said he would campaign on his record at Stormont. He said he had spoken out on issues when others had not.
Wilson said it was an honour to stand alongside Gaston. He said he wanted to engage younger voters in the constituency.
Party leader Jim Allister said the two candidates were skilled and that the ticket gave voters the chance to strengthen unionist representation.
The election uses the Single Transferable Vote system. The TUV said transfers between unionist candidates could secure the additional seat.
