The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs has opened the 2026 Northern Ireland Farm Census.

Farmers and growers must complete the survey by 30 June 2026.

The census records land use, livestock numbers and workforce details as of 1 June 2026.

New questions ask about low emission slurry spreading equipment.

Responses are collected through the Blaise digital platform, which saves progress automatically and allows users to pause and resume.

Participants receive a 12-digit code with their invitation letter to access the survey.

Data is used only for statistics and policy development and is not applied to enforcement.

Farmers who did not receive an invitation or need help can email DAERAsurveys@daera-ni.gov.uk or call 028 9081 6556.
