A veterans charity in Northern Ireland has obtained £500,000 in funding to offer accommodation and support to homeless ex-Armed Forces members.

Strangford DUP MLA Michelle McIlveen welcomed the allocation. McIlveen serves as DUP Deputy Leader.

She stated that individuals who served the country with courage deserve better than homelessness or isolation after returning to civilian life. McIlveen added that no veteran should be overlooked.

The MLA called the funding a key investment for former service personnel. She said it will create lasting impact for vulnerable ex-members.

McIlveen praised Beyond the Battlefield for its work. She noted the group provides dignity, compassion, and practical aid to veterans at difficult times.

The MLA commended the charity's dedication to those who wore the uniform. McIlveen said she will keep collaborating with Beyond the Battlefield and similar groups.

Her aim is to ensure veterans throughout Northern Ireland get the recognition, care, and help they deserve.
