Courts: Care worker jailed over Muckamore Abbey patient assault as dangerous driver and sex offence accused appear in court
ANTRIM (sitting in Ballymena): A care worker, Ryan Barry Mills (40), of Randalstown, was given a four-month jail term, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to ill-treating a patient at Muckamore Abbey Hospital in 2017 - the incident involved pushing the vulnerable patient's head downwards into a nurse's bench. District Judge Nigel Broderick said Mills had been in a position of trust and had failed in his duty to deal appropriately with the patient's challenging behaviour.
