An inquest at Liverpool Coroners' Court on March 16 ruled that Olivia Wojciechowska, a 19-year-old business student from East Belfast, died from multi-organ failure, acute liver failure, and drug intoxication.

Wojciechowska collapsed at a Halloween rave at Blackstone Street Warehouse in Vauxhall, Liverpool, on November 1. She took MDMA before the event and again one to two hours after arriving around 4pm. She collapsed at 10.05pm.

Staff at a welfare tent applied ice bags to lower her temperature. An ambulance took her to Royal Liverpool Hospital, arriving at 11.45pm. Doctors intubated her and placed her on a ventilator. Her liver and kidney functions declined, requiring dialysis and medication.

On November 3, she received approval for a liver transplant. She transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham on November 5. A CT scan that day showed she would not survive. She died on November 7.

As a registered organ donor, Wojciechowska donated her lungs and heart, saving two lives. Her body returned to Northern Ireland for a funeral at St Colmcille's Church in East Belfast on December 12.

The coroner recorded a conclusion of drug-related death.
