Sinn Fein MLAs Michelle O'Neill, Northern Ireland's first minister, and Declan Kearney criticised the United States for attacking Iran. They described the action as a disregard for the right to life, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.

The comments came in recent days amid tensions between the US and Iran.

February 17 marked the 38th anniversary of the La Mon massacre. Provisional IRA members used napalm in the attack, killing 12 people and injuring others permanently.

Victims of the La Mon incident have not received justice.

During its campaign, the Provisional IRA obtained weapons from US sources. Collaborators in the US supplied Barrett Light .50 sniper rifles, which IRA members used in south Armagh to kill security force personnel.

In March 1995, Gerry Adams organised a Sinn Fein fundraising dinner in New York that raised $200. Donald Trump attended the event.
