South Eastern Trust Celebrates 50 Years of Ulster University Physiotherapy Programme
Staff from the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust met students and lecturers from Ulster University at Lisburn's Primary and Community Care Centre. The gathering marked the start of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the university's physiotherapy programme.
Lecturers Ciara McGurn and Sarah Howe attended alongside trust staff and physiotherapy students. The event featured a coffee morning.
Julie Alexander, the trust's assistant director for allied health professionals, stated that the visit showed physiotherapy's key role in the trust. She noted the programme's support for the university's education efforts.
Alexander described the programme as Europe's longest-running. She pointed to its history of leadership, innovation, and educational excellence.
The trust's physiotherapy team, led by Jennifer Howard, works with the university. This collaboration trains skilled physiotherapists for the trust's workforce.
