The Law Society of Northern Ireland admitted 140 newly qualified solicitors to the Roll during its 2026 ceremony at Assembly Buildings in Belfast on 20 February 2026. The event included 500 guests.

Society President Mark Borland addressed attendees and called on solicitors to adjust to changes from artificial intelligence and legal technologies. He stressed their duties to clients and communities across Northern Ireland and awareness of political, economic, and legislative developments. Borland also emphasised protecting vulnerable residents unable to pay for legal services.

Lady Chief Justice Dame Siobhan Keegan spoke on the contributions of new solicitors to the profession. Registrar David A. Lavery presented the solicitors to Keegan and Borland.

The admissions featured the first recipients of the Centenary Bursary, launched in 2023 for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Fifteen solicitors joined via reciprocal agreements with England, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland.

Prizes went to Mark McCullough for top score in Solicitors Accounts Regulations and Courtney Vance for top score in Professional Conduct.
