Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced the completion of the Lisburn Orientation and Walkability Wayfinding project, jointly funded by the Department for Communities and Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.

The project involved the installation of 18 new and replacement fingerpost and totem-style signs at key locations in Lisburn City Centre. The signs direct pedestrians to retail areas, bus and train stations, public parks, and public toilet facilities.

Minister Lyons stated that the project enhances the walkability of Lisburn City Centre and supports local businesses by improving navigation for shoppers and visitors. He added that investment in such initiatives strengthens the overall visitor experience in urban centres.

Councillor Claire Kemp, Regeneration and Growth Chair at Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, said the project makes the city centre more navigable, inclusive, and welcoming. She noted that the signage supports active travel and increases footfall for local businesses.
